NOVA wins Women’s 7’s Championship

NOVA finished off an undefeated weekend with a 10-0 win over the San Diego Surfers to complete their second consecutive Women’s 7’s Championship.

NOVA reached the final with a tight 5-0 win over the Boston Belles while San Diego cruised to a 33-0 win over New York.

Labeled as the Women’s 7’s NIT, the tournament was co-hosted by Beantown RFC and Brown University Women’s Rugby. The tournament will hopefully serve as the last “NIT” as USA Rugby should be forced by the USOC to formalize the competition into a recognized National Championship.

To make NOVA’s repeat even more remarkable, the squad did not yeild a single point the entire weekend as they outscored their opposition 134-0 in six games.

Here are the results from the weekend.
