Cal Wins Storer Classic

Cal clinched the Storer Classic for the sixth year in a row Sunday on campus in Westwood, CA beating the host UCLA Bruins, 53-5. The matchup was the fifth straight year that Cal has met UCLA in the final. Six Golden Bears accounted for a total of eight tries, with two each from Blaine Scully and Seamus Kelly.

In the 3rd place match, Utah routed Oregon 60-0.

“Coming in as a new team in the Pac-10, it was good to see the level of competition we’ll be seeing,” said center sophomore Thretton Palamo. “Good to see us come from behind and capture a win against USC, showed a lot of heart. And Cal put us in a reality check. Now we know what we need to be.”
