by Ted Hardy, Editor, Rugby America

It is being reported that former USA 7’s stalwart and Duke University law student, James “Guppy” Gillenwater is in the Intensive Care Unit after brain surgery that resulted from an accident while playing rugby.

During a test following a broken nose and cheekbone, blood clots were discovered in his brain that required surgery.

Paki’s Corner is reporting that Gillenwater is awake and responsive following the surgery.

Please keep Guppy and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Once more information is available, we will do our best to keep everyone informed.
