Division I Playoff Roundup

Division I Collegiate rugby is one step closer to the Final Four as both men and women were in action this weekend vying for a shot at the title.

Men’s Round of 16

The first round of the Men’s playoffs saw a few close matchups, but for the most part the favorites came away winners.

  • Bowling Green 64 Temple 5
  • University of Florida 57 Maryland 16
  • UC-Santa Barbara 41 Oregon State 24
  • Stanford 33 Northern Colorado 12
  • Davenport 27 Minnesota 0
  • Kansas State 10 Texas State 6
  • Hardvard 15 Northeastern 0
  • Buffalo 14 Southern Connecticut 5

Today’s games will determine the semifinalists for the Division I National Championships.

Men’s Round of 8

  • Bowling Green vs. University of Florida
  • UC-Santa Barbara vs. Stanford
  • Kansas State vs. Davenport
  • Harvard vs. Buffalo

Women’s Playoffs

The Final 4 on the Women’s side of the playoffs has already been determined after a weekend of hard fought matchups. Penn State, Virginia, Army, and BYU have all earned their place in the semifinals.

  • Penn State 46 University of Northern Iowa 12
  • Stanford 40 Dartmouth 15
  • University of Virginia 37 UC-Davis 17
  • Brown 32 Michigan 29

Women’s Round of 8 Scores

Once all of the semifinalists are determined, the tournament shifts to Stanford on May 13-14, 2011 for the Collegiate Division Championship.
